I guess you would say I have had the travel bug since I was a baby-travelling off to Hong Kong when I was still under two years of age.
Somehow this travel bug hasn’t gone away and with the advent of digital photography it’s easy to record these events. Those places that I have recorded a journal reflecting the trip are really a bonus. It gives me a chance to do the equivalent of documenting the event and the people and there are some strange ones out there.
This site is dedicated to all those people in those far away places that I have met. Some I can remember their names others were just passing faces. The toothy grin of the worshipper in Samarkand just sums up the happiness of so many people who have little but still are happy with their lot.
You will find that the majority of the photographs are about places as I do not wish to encroach into people’s space unless they welcome me.
Travelling may be the bug but the buzz is getting up and out early and finding the towns and cities just rising. The early morning in Istanbul when the sun had hardly come through cast such a vivid blue across the whole city for just a split second, it had to be captured. That’s what makes me realise that we live amongst some amazing sites in this world.
Lets protect them from ourselves.
Travel and enjoy that time!
